This course introduces the wave nature of light and the optical phenomena that arise from it. Topics include interference, diffraction, and polarization, with emphasis on their physical principles and experimental verification. The course explains classical experiments such as Young’s double-slit experiment, diffraction by single and multiple apertures, and methods of producing and analyzing polarized light. Applications of wave optics in optical instruments and modern technology are also discussed.
