World Literature (Eng2004-2025)

The course is a journey through the influential and less-discussed literary works worldwide. It is meant to familiarize students with a general background of world literature, its significant theories, concepts, and trends. The course introduces students to world literature from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America to North America, mostly of either marginalized or non-English literature, from novels to plays and poetry. The course will enable students to look at samples from different works and compare them to what they already study. The module is designed to familiarize the researcher/student with most of the world's issues (Similar to those of the Middle East).

A series of lectures and seminars will be delivered to ensure that students understand the material. Set texts will be read and critical discussion will occur in seminars and meetings to engage the students.
